Day Four

Picture: Garlic Chicken (I did nothing fancy to it, it comes like that packaged from Target. Baked Sweet Potato Fries. Total Calories: 300)

Eating Healthy is wearing my college student wallet thin, but now I have better food stocked up in my fridge, and I'm feeling so much better and positive about continuing this lifestyle.

I went to Target and Trader Joe's today and picked up some devilish delights.

What I bought:

Trader Joe's:
Those "Thailand" inspired noodle bowls, ONLY $.99! I bought six of them, and although they are high in sodium, they seem like they're really good for you, and super yummy!

Popcorn! Popcorn is the best snack for dieters. High in fiber, and low calorie (make sure it's not heavily buttered and more than 94% Fat Free!)

Cilantro Chicken Wontons (90 calories for 4, makes for an awesome, healthy snack.)

Macarons (I had to, they're my guilty pleasure. 90 Calories for two!)

Freash and Sleazy:

Sweet Potatos (A dieters MUST HAVE! They are low calorie, full of great nutrients, and absolutely delicious! I'm eating some right now with a little Frank's Hot Sauce. Which adds SO much flavor to everything.)

Fresh and Easy brand cereals with flax seed (best thing you can put into your body.) 2 for $5!

Target:

Wild Caught Frozen Salmon (Salmon is on the top ten foods for a healthy diet.) A bit pricy, but I Loooove me some salmon! lol

... I forgot a few things, oh well. lol

Today's Menu:

For breakfast:
Homemade Rice Krispie (70 Calories)

Lunch:
1 serving of Veggie Potato Snacks (160 calories)
Half a Sweet Potato with Hot Sauce (60 calories)

Dinner:
Garlic Chicken & Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Dessert:
Two macarons (90 calories)
Fudgesicle (40 calories.)

So, I have a sweet tooth? lol

Day Three

Yesterday:

Breakfast:
Coffee & Fiber One Brownie (90 Calories)

Lunch:
Stir Fry with Terriyaki sauce (about 120 calories)
Homemade Rice Krispie (70 Calories)

Dinner:
Garlic Corn (150 calories)
Black Beans with cilantro (90 calories)
Small Round Tortilla (90 calories)

I'm on day 3, and have already lost 4 POUNDS! The holiday weight has finally left the building! :)

If you're reading this, what I found most helpful has been the "My Fitness Pal" app from Droid. It's freeeeeeee! :)

Before-Ish & After

Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of me as 220 pounds (I was always aware of my weight, and still hate being photographed today) But I do have some of me where I'm 175 V. 139 Pound Me. The second picture is not proportioned, making it seem bigger. I'm wearing the same waist belt in both pictures, look at how it looks like it's going to burst in the first pic! lol

Day Two.

Last night, I sort of binged, but still kept it under 1200 calories as "my fitness pal" recommends. On top of the Rice Krispie I had for breakfast, the "Mexican" Pasta I had for lunch, I had a few skittles, olives and a marzipan cookie. It went down soooooo gooooood. Haha.

Today's Food Log:

Breakfast: leftover garlic vegetables from yesterday. 180 Calories.

Lunch: Teriyaki Stir Fry: 120 Calories & 1 Fudgecicle: 40 Calories

Dinner (anticipating): One piece of Chicken: 200 Calories, Caesar Salad: 210 Calories
(and possibly another fudgecicle after, or I might treat myself to two Oreos since I have a ton of left over calories. hmmm)

How are your diets coming along, ladies? I'd love to hear about them! :)

My Dieting Journey.

My "Mexican" Pasta with Garlic Vegetables (350 Calories!)

I have been on and off diets since I was TWELVE. I have always been just a little too FAT. At 13, I was a whopping 220, and stood at 5'2; needless to say I was taunted and made fun of until I decided to shed the weight. I have never followed a strict regime, and with a change in eating habits, and switching to low calorie, great tasting foods, I was able to lose 75 pounds! At 22, I am at a healthy weight, but can afford lose 10 or 20 pounds. Join me on my journey for tips, tricks and delicious recipes I concoct! :) I'm a DIY kind of girl. I don't believe in limiting myself from "fattening" foods, a girl's gotta eat!

Today:
For breakfast, I had a Rice Krispie treat (90 calories) with my Coffee.

Lunch: I made this wonderful and delicious "Mexican" Pasta that was TO DIE FOR. So spicy, and savory. I handmade the marinara by blanching and pressing tomatoes. To that, I added oregano, garlic salt, chopped jalapenos, white beans, and hot enchilada sauce. I used regular penne pasta (but I prefer wheat). On the side, I cooked up a can of vegetables and put a LITTLE bit of butter and garlic salt. SO DELICIOUS! Tasted just like creamed vegetables with less fat and calories. This entire meal was ONLY 350 CALORIES!!! Best lunch ever. I ate this two hours ago, and I'm still full!

Dinner: Don't know what I'll have for dinner, but 21 choices is calling my name! To splurge, or not to splurge, that is the question!
